June 26, 2024 – 3 min. read

Today Mediahuis has successfully launched five new regional Dutch publications on the CUE media enterprise platform. This expansion further solidifies Mediahuis' strategic vision of operating as a unified "network company" powered by a single, flexible technology stack.

The newly launched titles include Leidsch Dagblad, Gooi en Eemlander, Noordhollands Dagblad, Haarlems Dagblad, and IJmuider Courant. They join a number of other Mediahuis brands already live on the CUE media enterprise platform.

"What we try to do is operate as a network company (...) This means that we can have the top technology at the lowest price possible and make it possible to scale the improvements, the innovations that we make in each of the news brands fast to the other brands." said the Mediahuis CEO at a recent global media conference in Copenhagen. "To do this well, you need technology, and Mediahuis has become one technology organization with one tech stack. This allows us to have top technology at the lowest price possible and rapidly scale innovations across all our news brands, while still providing flexibility for local customization."

The expanded Mediahuis implementation showcases the full power of the CUE platform, including:

  • Cutting-edge digital storytelling capabilities for mobile websites and apps
  • Sophisticated digital-to-print workflows with a high degree of automation
  • Unified editorial processes supporting story-first publishing
  • Centralized content management and media asset management, ensuring one platform for all actions across the daily workflow

"Mediahuis onboards four new titles in a single day - it's the first time our teams could onboard so many publications simultaneously," wrote Geert Kempen, Platform Owner at Mediahuis, on LinkedIn. "The new CUE setup counts as the version 2.0 blueprint for all Mediahuis regional brands going forward."

The CUE media enterprise platform brings value in the form of:

  • Accelerated digital transformation with modern editorial tools
  • Increased operational efficiencies through platform unification
  • Ability to rapidly innovate the reader experience across brands
  • Lower total cost of ownership with a centralized technology stack
