Easy zoning, flat planning, and monitoring tools are important parts of the solution.
Owning the license to publish a renowned magazine like National Geographic in four countries is a costly affair, says Leif Jonasson, Director of Editorial Systems at the Copenhagen-based Bonnier Publications. So when an opportunity to team up with Bonnier Publications’ counterpart in Estonia came up, Bonnier Publications took it.
In the beginning of 2017, Leif Jonasson had the first meeting with his Estonian industry colleagues about joining forces in publishing the National Geographic magazine in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Estonia. 8 months later, the first National Geographic magazine was published in all five countries using this completely new way of working across borders without any problems or mistakes.
Teaming up with the Estonians meant freeing up significant resources. For example, Bonnier in Denmark went from having four full-time employees working on the National Geographic magazine to having one part-time employee working on it.
Watch Leif Jonasson explain how this partnership has become successful with Bonnier’s cross-border publishing expertise combined with the zoning, flat planning, and monitoring tools in CUE Print (formerly known as CCI NewsGate/Page Director), in the video above.
